# Configure refund and Chargeback notification URLs

> Configure global refund and Chargeback notification URLs in Waffo Dashboard.

Waffo can send refund and Chargeback results to global notification URLs configured in Dashboard.

## How each notification address is selected

| Notification | When it is needed | Address source |
| - | - | - |
| Refund | Refunds created in Dashboard, or refund requests without their own notification address | Global Dashboard `refundNotifyUrl` |
| Chargeback | Card payments with Chargeback handling | Global Dashboard `chargebackNotifyUrl` |

If a refund API request includes `refundNotifyUrl`, Waffo sends that refund result to the request-specific address. The global Dashboard URL is not required for that request.

## Prerequisites

* Your role is **Super Admin**, **Admin**, or **Dev**.
* The receiving service is deployed at a publicly reachable production address.
* The service verifies Waffo signatures and returns the required response. See [Webhook overview](/docs/en/developer-docs/webhook/overview).

## URL requirements

| Item | Requirement |
| - | - |
| Protocol | Production must use `https://` and TLS 1.2+ |
| Format | Valid RFC 3986 URL |
| Length | No more than 512 characters |
| Characters | No spaces, Chinese characters, or other invalid characters |
| Reachability | Publicly reachable from Waffo services |

## Configure a URL

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in to Dashboard">
    Open [Waffo Dashboard](https://dashboard.waffo.com/auth/login), then go to **Settings → Integration**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the notification type">
    In **Merchant Sign Configuration Details**, find the notification type and click its **Edit** action.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter and save the URL">
    Paste the complete `refundNotifyUrl` or `chargebackNotifyUrl`, then click **Save**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify delivery">
    Trigger the corresponding production flow and confirm that your service receives the notification. Do not rely only on the Dashboard success message.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Change a notification URL

Follow the original configuration steps, enter the new address, and save. After the new address takes effect, the previous address stops receiving that notification type.

Confirm that the new endpoint can receive requests and verify signatures before switching to prevent notification loss.

## Clear a notification URL

To stop using a global address, clear the URL field and click **Save**. The previous address then stops receiving global notifications of that type.

<Warning>
  Before clearing `refundNotifyUrl`, make sure every refund API request supplies a valid notification address. Clearing `chargebackNotifyUrl` stops Chargeback notifications to that address.
</Warning>

## Common error

| Error | Cause | Resolution |
| - | - | - |
| `Invalid URL: must start with http:// or https:// and be a valid address.` | The URL has no protocol, is malformed, exceeds the length limit, or contains invalid characters | Use a complete production HTTPS address and remove spaces, Chinese characters, and invalid characters |

If Dashboard saves the URL but your service receives no notification, check public reachability, the TLS certificate, service logs, and Webhook signature handling. Contact Waffo technical support if the problem continues.
