From May 12–13, 2025, the 3rd Dubai FinTech Summit was held in Dubai, UAE. The most influential fintech gathering in the Middle East drew over 9,000 attendees from 120+ countries under the theme “FinTech for All,” spanning AI, digital payments, open banking, and virtual assets.
Hong Kong delegation: bridging Asia and the Middle East
Coinciding with the summit, a high-level business delegation led by John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, visited the Middle East to promote innovation and economic cooperation. As part of the mission, Cyberport led 16 fintech companies — including Waffo — on a business tour of the UAE, making a collective appearance at the summit.
Waffo joined forces with InvestHK and Cyberport to showcase its cross-border payment infrastructure, payment localization, and smart risk control as a representative of Hong Kong's fintech innovation.
Localized payment infrastructure for emerging markets
Waffo focuses on the digital payment needs of emerging markets across APAC, LATAM, Africa, and the Middle East — pairing wide local-method coverage with compliance capability so digital-native enterprises can enter fast-growing markets like MENA with confidence. The summit marked a milestone in Waffo's expansion into the Middle East and North Africa.
