Waffo Partners with LianLian Global to Build a New Global Payments Ecosystem

The strategic alliance unifies fragmented local payment networks into a single-API layer for cross-border merchants and their customers.

Waffo, a global payments and merchant services provider, announced a strategic partnership with LianLian Global, a leader in cross-border financial services. The alliance unifies fragmented payment networks into a single-API layer, expanding local payment coverage for cross-border merchants and their end customers.

Why localized payments decide conversion

Consumer preferences vary sharply by region: Southeast Asian consumers gravitate toward QR codes and e-wallets like ZaloPay; Latin American markets rely on cash-based rails like Boleto and real-time Pix; Japanese users favor Konbini convenience-store payments, Pay-easy, and PayPay; Taiwanese shoppers reach for JKOPay. A one-size-fits-all payment strategy leaves conversion on the table in every one of these markets.

One API, deeply local rails

The partnership pairs Waffo's payment infrastructure — wide local-method coverage, high success rates, strong platform availability, and industry-leading anti-fraud — with LianLian's global reach: 65 payment licenses and qualifications, services across 100+ countries and regions, and 5.9 million customers served. LianLian Global's merchants can now offer their customers familiar local payment options with higher success rates and smoother payment experiences.

“This alliance marks another step up in LianLian's global service capability,” said Shen Enguang, CEO of LianLian Global. “Beyond richer localized payment choices for our merchants, it helps their end customers pay in the ways they know and trust — driving prosperity across the whole cross-border trade ecosystem.”

Steve Shen, Co-founder of Waffo, added: “LianLian's deep cross-border expertise and global footprint complement Waffo's localized payment capabilities perfectly. Together we'll deliver a more complete payment solution for global merchants and help them capture more opportunities in the digital era.”

Looking ahead, the two companies will deepen cooperation across technology innovation, product development, and market expansion, bringing more innovative value to the cross-border payments industry.

Companies go live on Waffo. Developers start on Pancake.

Two paths, one promise: you build the product, Waffo runs the payments.
